Spent the late morning fishing the Black River in East Central Arizona. With a below average snow pack and limited run off, the river was running just above base flow. The water was slightly stained, but offered good visibility. I caught three small brown's 8, 10, and 11, all in deep fast moving cuts. The fish hit a brown #16 VFG Nyph, dropped off a #12 Blue Winged Olive.
May 31, 2008 Rainbow Trout Flies: Parachute Blue Wing Olive #18 Other Details: Fished Big Lake's west shore with Dad and some friends. Casted to the edge of the underwater weeds and caught two small Rainbows on a dry fly.
Flies Used: Gray Drake #14 and Yellow Rubberleg Stimulator #16.
Other Details:Southeastern AZ, on Mt. Graham. We fished mostly on the west side on the rocks, but also caught fish on the north shore near the day use parking.

Ponds at Greer Lodge, AZ November 21 to 23, 2007 Rainbow Trout Flies: Pheasant Tails, Beaded Prince Nymphs, Stimulators, and Elk Hair Caddis. Other details: The Greer Lodge in Greer Arizona is a great place to learn and develop fishing skills. They have 3 ponds which are not surrounded by obstructions including shrubs and trees. The ponds are catch and release. They also have a very good restaurant and cabins on the property.
Other Details: Parked at the parking area at the end of Hatchery Road. Hiked one mile up the creek through three fences. We fished up to the hatchery runs.
Flies Used: Dark and Medium Brown San Juan Worm #16; Green Laser Midge #20; Silver Beaded Black Zebra Midge #20.
